Oak Park swimming pool is open

GREENFIELD -- After being closed for two years, the Greenfield Oak Park swimming pool is finally open again. The swimming pool, which normally opens Memorial Day, opened three weeks early this year in order to get the word out that it is open again. The pool will remain open through the week after Labor Day.

Greenfield blood drive a huge success

GREENFIELD -- A Greenfield Community Blood Drive was held last Thursday at the Greenfield High School by the Red Cross. This was the first time that the Northern California Blood Region of the Red Cross has held a blood drive at Greenfield High School, but the Red Cross was extremely impressed with the results.

Community Revitalization bill is progressing

SACRAMENTO -- Assembly Bill 1080, legislation for Community Revitalization and Investment Authorities, passed the Assembly Committee on Local Government with unanimous bipartisan support. The bill, which was introduced by Assemblyman Luis Alejo in February, would allow certain disadvantaged areas of California to create a new entity called a Community Revitalization Investment Authority.
