Bruins unable to pull out win against Marina
Posted: Wednesday, Feb 10th, 2010

Rebounds and free-throws worked against the Greenfield Bruins in their match-up with the Marina Mariners on Feb. 5.

The two teams first met in January with Marina coming out with a 42-22 win. In their latest meeting, the Mariners won with a score of 43-20.

The Bruins were first on the board in the first quarter and the two teams defense kept scoring in the first quarter low, with Greenfield scoring four points to Marina’s six. Scoring on free-throws gave Marina four of the six points they received during the first quarter.

Without the added points, the first quarter would have ended with Greenfield on top.

During the second quarter, both teams scored nine points, leaving the score at 15-13. Again penalties, and sometimes the lack of penalties, worked against both teams.
